HYDERABAD: The Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench here Tuesday issued notices to the respondents in a case pertaining to telephonic speeches of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s chief Altaf Hussain.
According to details, the petitioner Qamar Bhatti prayed before the court to order Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to direct the private and national electronic media news channels to stop telecasting the MQM chief’s speeches.
He also requested the court to order the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) should be directed not to allow the live telephonic speeches of Altaf Hussain.
The court admitted the petition for preliminary hearing and issued notices to the respondents including chairman PEMRA, Interior Secretary and Foreign Secretary.
The date of the next date of hearing will be decided in the office.
