ISLAMABAD: Farooq Sattar a prominent leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movemenet (MQM) on Monday said that according to the Constitution Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is no longer a member of the parliament, Aaj News reported.
Farooq Sattar said that the legislators from PTI returned to the parliament after 7 months even though they are not legitimize to enter the parliament as they have resigned seventh months ago.
According to the clause A or Article 64 of the constitution of Pakistan, “Any lawmaker who submits his resignation is considered to have resigned immediately if that resignation is not taken back”.
The Speaker has no authority to call them back into the house, said Sattar.
He also added that the constitution also says that if any member is absent from the House for more than 40 days, he is deemed not to be a Member of Parliament anymore,”
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Farooq Sattar vows to keep protesting until the speaker takes notice and if not then MQM will go for the courts. The decision to walk out from the parliament will be made after 5pm.
