PESHAWAR: Khumarian, Zeek Afridi and Sakan have brought hundreds and thousands of visitors and families on their toes on the second day of the spring festival organized in joint collaboration of Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 9th Division of Pakistan Army at lush green Kohat Garrison on Monday.
Khumarian with the guitarist performances and Zeek has some stunning prominent numbers, followed by Sakan with his “sofiana touch” that turned the whole complexion into a melodious atmosphere that largely enthralled the spectators.
All of the prominent singers and groups with their melodious voices have received thundering applauses from the capacity crowd attracted to the festival.
General Officer Commander (GOC) 9 Division Infantry Azhar Abbas Saleh, Managing Director Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, other military and civil officials were also present on this occasion.
The show was started right in the morning and families from every nook and corner turned up, pigeon and balloons were also released in the air that added colour to the Sky- the real motto of the festival. Hundreds and thousands of visitors responded well with cheering hands to the opening ceremony. The band of Pakistan Army, who has also their performances in various countries, with their melodious tones and different formation, received thundering applauses, followed by a kite competitions among the visitors and even some of them have vociferous slogans of “Bu Katta, Bu Katta, Bu Katta” (joyous announcement to cut opponent’s kite).
There was one window shopping facilities for the visitors with stalls of handicrafts, readymade garments, varieties of lady cloth (colorful lawns), handmade work of Chitral and Swat, traditional food, social welfare stalls for the troops, PAFWA, a grand fun land for the children have an added show.
The dog skills show, army band, kattack, mehsud, betani, traditional Atharn and culture dances of the children, wearing traditional costumes of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitrali also engulfed the spectators who gathered their hands by appreciating the performances of the children.
Having combined performances of the APS children and some of them in traditional costumes portrayed the soft image of the Pakistan’s federating units. The local and out stationed artisans made the atmosphere more pleasant with their prominent numbers when came on the stage and compelled the spectators to come on their toes with thundering applauses.
At the end of the two-day event, those who decorated their stalls beautifully will also be awarded with cash prizes.
