Firmness prevailed on the money market on Friday as the rupee held the overnight levels against the dollar in the process of trading, dealers said.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: The rupee managed to hold the overnight levels against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 101.85 and Rs 101.88 respectively, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee held the week-long levels in terms of dollar for buying and selling at Rs 102.30 and Rs 102.50 respectively, while the national currency shed 80 paisa versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 111.00 and Rs 111.25, respectively, they said. In the Asia, almost all markets were closed on Friday due to a holiday.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The dollar-rupee parity remained unchanged in the local currency markets on Friday.
Currency dealers said the dollar resumed trading at Rs 102.40 and 102.65 on buying and selling counters, respectively, as against Rs 102.35 and Rs 102.60 on Thursday. At the close of trading, the greenback lost its ground and was ended at Rs 102.35 and Rs 102.60 as its buying and selling rates, respectively.
On the other hand, the British pound improved its worth against the local currency. The pound was traded at Rs 151.10 and Rs 151.50 on buying and selling counters, respectively, as compared to overnight closing rates of Rs 150.70 and Rs 151.55, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.
The dollar opened at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling).
