When David Miller, a South African player struck a six at the Indian Premier League game, a policeman got hit in one eye, local media reported.
A game between Kolkata and Punjab at Eden Gardens on May 9 became the cursed match when poor Aloke Aich, Police Man, 53 lost an eye.
Miller tweeted on Friday as he was shocked and saddened to hear about the news of Aich losing his eye.
Kolkota Police are paying medical expense for the injury, said Aich’s son.
Aich’s son feared that this might be the end of his fathers police career. Aich is the only earning member of the family.
He further added that he is a part of a middle class family whose survivors depend on the his father’s income. Uncertainty still haunts family as they are not sure if Aich will be able to carry his job.
