The beautiful Anushka Sharma, with her poofed hair and exaggerated eye make up plays the husky Rosie Noronha, a jazz singer. She is a regular at a club called Bombay Velvet where much of the action takes place.
Ranbhir Kapoor, plays Johnny Balraj, a boxer/street-fighter. He falls in love with the beautiful Rosie.
Karan Johar, in his rare stint as an actor, plays Kaizad Khambata, a quick witted Parsi media mogul. He owns the Bombay Velvet and uses it to blackmail a minister.
As the story unfolds, Rosie fakes her own death and Kaizad tries to get Johnny killed.
Stars from the Bollywood are all praise for this movie which promises action, romance and thrill all packed in a three-hour time slot.
