KARACHI: This is not the first time Tahir Minhas, one of the four alleged terrorists for the Safoora bus attack, was arrested by the police, Aaj News reported.
Major General Bilal Akbar DG Rangers Sindh said that Minhas was arrested once before as well but was released on bail. “If he had not been released before the Safoora carnage would not have had happened,” he said while addressing the Senate meeting today.
He added that in various terrorism activities in the city links to foreign countries were found.
He said that in order to reduce growing acts of terrorism in the country illegal weapons should be seized.
He added that while they had arrested four people a group of 125 people is involved in such activities.
He said that he was trying to investigate why Minhas was released on bail before.
He also said that there were 4000 religious seminaries in the city of which many were spreading hate and religious intolerance.
On Wednesday, during a press conference Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh cheif minister disclosed the names of four terrorists who were involved in a number of terrorist activities in the city including the Safoora bus attack.
