KARACHI: Rekha Bhardwaj, famous Indian playback singer will sing a song in the upcoming Pakistani movie– Bin Roye, local media reported.
The music composer of the song will be the famous Shani Arshad.
When Momina Duraid, the film producer, first heard the song she knew that none other besides Rekha Bhardwaj can sing it, said Arshad.
The song was recorded over Skype but even Skype was unable to affect the quality of Bhardwaj sound. Bhardwaj is a two-time Film fare Award winner for playback singing.
However, Arshad has not disclosed the title of the song but described it as a spell bounding melody.
Arshad encourages Pakistani talent to discover the Indian markets as it will help spawn the new upcoming musicians.
This is not the first time that Arshad is working with an Indian talent as previously he had worked with Sunidhi Chauhan.
The composer has a legacy of his own as he worked with Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, Hadiqa Kiyani, Shehzad Roy, Strings, Haroon, Zaain Ul Abideen, Raheem Shah, Najam Sheraz, Aamir Zaki and Sajjad Ali. Arshad has been nominated twice for Lux Style Awards and twice for TMA The Muzik Awards.
He has also composed music for different television channels and major brands.
Bhardwaj is known in the industry for her distinctive tone, singing style and choice of songs. She was first gained fame from her song ‘Namak Ishq Da’ from Omkara and received further acclaim and recognition for her songs Genda Phool (2009), Badi Dheere (2010), Ranjha Ranjha (2010), Darling (2011), Phir Le Aya (2012), Ghaghra (2013), Kabira (2013), Hamari Atariya (2014) and Judaai (2015).
She has worked with the likes of A.R Rehman and Gulzar, who do not need any introduction. Bhardwaj consider Lata Mangeshkar as her Inspiration.
