ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government will present its third Federal Budget for the Fiscal Year 2015-16 before the parliament today, Aaj News reported.
An expected total outlay of the federal budget is Rs 4.2 trillion.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will read out the budget proposals to be approved by the federal cabinet in its special session chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Sources revealed that the government has set a total revenue target of about Rs3.1 trillion.
The defence budget is expected to be allocated at Rs772 billion, while Rs1150 billion are expected to be set aside for internal and external debt.
The economic growth target of the budget will be 5.5 percent while trade deficit stays at $17.70 billion. The government is expected to set a $43.30 billion import target.
For inflation in the year 2015-16, the target of 6 percent has been set.
To finalize budgetary recommendations, a meeting of the federal cabinet has been called at 2:00PM today, while the budget will be presented in the Assembly session at 5:00PM.
