KARACHI: The provincial health department has set up a network of 62 Heat Stroke Relief Centres across Karachi on the directives of Sindh Chief Minister.
Secretary for Health, Saeed Mangnejo talking to APP Thursday said relevance of these well equipped relief centres is extremely crucial due to cases of casualty.
He said the heat is intense and unprecedented exposing hundreds of unassuming individuals mainly children and elderly.
With a view to rehabilitate the heatstroke victims 16 centres are functional in district Malir, 15 in district West, 10 in Korangi, nine each in districts South and Central and three in district East.
Saeed Mangneejo said all these centres are functional amidst localities reported to be worst hit due to calamity.
Similar facilities, he said are also being established in other affected areas of Tando Allahyar, Khairpur and Badin.
