At least 55 people died in two days as a heat wave gripped the city, Aaj News Reported.
The death toll from a crippling heat wave in Karachi has passed 55 people in just two days, Aaj News reported Sunday. The country reportedly has seen temperatures approaching 46 degrees centigrade in Karachi.
“We have received 26 dead bodies at Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre since Saturday night,” said Dr. Seemin Jamali, head of the hospital’s emergency department.
“Patients may have been suffering from different diseases but most probably, they died of heat stroke or heat exhaustion,” said Dr. Jamali.
