ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Parliamentary Leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement is against diplomatic norms which would effect efforts to bring India and Pakistan’s relation to normalization.
Talking to media at Parliament House, he said, Pakistan believes in regional peace and do not want war. Similarly, there is also a section of people in India who wants harmony between both of the countries. “But Modi’s assertion does not seem to be encouraging for the efforts of normalization.”
While showing Pakistan’s seriousness for the cordial relations with all neighbor countries including India, Qureshi said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif attended Modi’s oath taking ceremony as a good will gesture and to develop good relations with India.
He said that India should avoid to revise the history as it is useless and will worsen the relations between India and Pakistan.
Qureshi showed his amazement on the silence of Muslim world and international community on killing of innocent Muslims in Myanmar.
He proposed that the issue of Myanmar Muslims should be taken up in
Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on immediate basis and Pakistan should play its due role into the issue.
