KARACHI: The citizens have got a relief from heat waves as parts of Karachi received light rain on Monday, Aaj News reported.
Since the last two days, residents of the city have been struggling with the worst heat wave in decades.
Light rain has turned the weather pleasant. Rain was received in Orangi Town, North Nazimabad and F.B. Area.
At least 180 people have died due to the current heat wave during the last two days in Karachi.
On Friday, temperature rose to 45 degrees Celsius in the metropolis.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), temperatures in other cities of the province such as Dadu, Sehwan and Larkana reached a scorching 39 degree Celsius. During the next 24 hours, very hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the province; however, rain-thundershower with dust-storm is expected at isolated places in lower Sindh (Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad divisions).
