WEB DESK: Pakistani Batsman Shoaib Malik is the first Pakistani to join an elite club exclusive to 12 members by scoring 5000 runs in T20 format. He was playing for the Caribbean Cricket League in West India.
All the other members of the club have played for eight seasons in Indian Premier League which soared their scores. However Malik has never played in the IPL.
Instead he has been a part of Pakistan National T20 Side and Leagues which includes three leagues, Caribbean Cricket League in West India, Big Bash League in Australia and The Sialkot Stallions who recently won the Super 8 T20 Cup.
According to a press release, the Sialkot Stallions is the leading T20 team in the world when it comes to winning matches. Of all the matches the team played 80% were captained by Malik for the past 9 seasons.
Malik manages to put a massive 770 runs on the score board playing for Barbados Tridents with highest average of 44.5 at a strike rate of 122.97.
Malik is also only 2 wickets away from getting his 100-wickets haul in T20, another first for a Pakistani.
