WASHINGTON: The US State Department issued a report which states terrorism in Pakistan has declined, Aaj News reported.
The report indicates that Pakistan, Philippine, Nepal and Russia has seen a decline in terrorist related incidents.
Despite that the Army Public School attack made it to the second most gruesome terrorist attack of the world in 2014. Over 150 children were mercilessly killed on December 16, when terrorists held a school hostage.
The biggest terrorist incident occurred when around 670 prisoners were killed in a prison in Mosul, Iraq by Islamic state militants.
The year 2014 saw 20 major terrorist incidents.
According to the report, in the year 2014 60% of terrorist attacks in the world were conducted in Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
A total of 95 countries became victim to 13, 463 terrorism related incidents in which 33, 000 people lost their lives, 34, 000 got injured while more than 90, 000 were kidnapped.
Islamic state became the most dominant among the all extremist groups and Iran despite having talks on nuclear dispute is still backing up the extremist factions, said the report.
