KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has ordered urgent data compilation of different diseases,including hepatitis,registered among people of the province.
Chairing a departmental meeting here Thursday, he said the provincial government was keen to focus on prevention of diseases rampant in Karachi so as to ensure quality life for people in general.
For the purpose it was necessary to develop a data with detailed information about disease pattern, areas and status wise vulnerability and relevance of vaccination, said the minister
The meeting was attended by Sindh Secretary for Health, Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo and Project Director for Hepatitis Control Program, Abdul Khaliq Shaikh alongwith other senior officials of the health department.
They were urged to focus on preventive aspect.
Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar directed the officials to educate people in general and students in particular about diseases and importance of vaccination.
He on the occasion also sought details of workers associated with Expanded Program on Immunization – Sindh, this was said to be in particular context of their academic qualifications and professional capacities.
“We need to verify academic documents at every level and ascertain their professional capacities, ” said the minister.
Jam Mehtab Hussain said teams of senior officials of health department will be constituted soon to inspect different districts and monitor performance of the health department staffers.
He particularly directed Abdul Khaliq Shaikh to present, within two days’ time, a detailed report about Hepatitis Control Program and performance of its workers.
