ISLAMABAD: Around 44,700 Afghan refugees have been repatriated from January 1, 2015 to July 4, 2015 including 23,600 from KPK, 4,100 Balochistan 3,600 Sindh, 9,100 Punjab, 2,800 Azad Jammu Kashmir and 540 from Islamabad respectively.
An source of UNHCR told APP here Friday, she said that as compared to the last year this year repatriation figure of Afghan refugees was higher as last year total figure was around 13,000 while now in the first six month of this year figure is over 44,000.
To a question, she said that due to the stability of government in Afghanistan now people were willingly moving to their homeland and UNHCR providing US $ 200 per person.
Refugee Affected and Hosting Areas (RAHA) would be completed by the end of 2017 while 10.6 million people were benefitted so far including 89 percent Pakistanis and 11 percent Afghan refugees across the country, She informed.
She said that RAHA has completed 3500 projects so far and several still continuing for the social welfare of the public.
