WEB DESK: The screening of Pakistani film ‘Bin Roye’ has been stopped in the Maharashtra province of India after a protest by extremist Shiv Sena, BBC Urdu reported.
After a gap of several years a Pakistani movie was being released in India. The release has been paused for a while to prevent riots of any sort.
The movie produced by Hum Films is being released in eight countries apart from Pakistan.
Speaking to BBC Urdu, Durraid Qureshi, CEO Hum Films said that he was sad about how Shiv Sena had reacted. However, he said that, the film’s release has been halted only in one state. “All over India, leaving Maharashthra, the film will be released on Eid-ul-Fitr,” he said.
He said that film’s distributor in India, B4U, had decided not to release the movie in Mahrashtra, and no ban had been imposed by the Indian government.
‘Bin Roye’ will star Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed in its lead roles.
