HYDERABAD: The people of Hyderabad giving final touches to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and festivity like other parts of the country.
Eid shopping reached on peak with great rush witnessed in almost all shopping areas of Hyderabad including Resham Bazaar, Shahi Bazaar, Cantt, Qasimabad shopping center, Gul Center and Latifabad Unit No-8 where the people were seeing busy in Eid shopping. The Eid shopping will continue till early hours of Eid day.
The high prices of rice, onion, chilli, vegetables and other essential commodities this year badly hit the common people and many are in a fix how to manage the extra expenditure for Eid shopping with their limited budget.
In Hyderabad, the cloths, footwear, cosmetics, spices and many other commodities have made inroads into many shops and markets in the city.
Some shopkeepers said on Wednesday that the sales were picking up since the 20th of Ramadan and the buyers said they were disheartened with the price hike of all goods this year.
The footpath markets at busy Resham bazaar, cloth market, Resham Gali, Al-Noor shopping centre, Tilak incline and other busy spots of the of the city are yet to gain shopping spree. The people of low-income brackets normally crowd the footpath markets much ahead of the Eid festival.
Low income people like laborer, garments and factory workers do their Eid shopping at comparatively low prices from the markets at Cloth Matket, Sabzi Mundi, Pacca Qilla, Faqir Ka pir, Shahi Bazar, Siroghat and other places.
The people from different walk of walks of life while talking to this scribe said that prices are much high this Year, for which they cited various reasons.
