KARACHI: As various parts of the metropolis received first monsoon rain with strong winds late on Tuesday night, weather of the city turned pleasant, Aaj News reported.
The first monsoon spell hit Nazimabad, Kashmir Colony, Akhtar Colony, Mehmoodabad, Lyari, Saddar, Old City Area, Korangi, Landhi, Keamari, University Road and Sohrab Goath.
Power supply was also disrupted in Defence, Landhi, Korangi, North Nazimabad, Keamari, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Lyari, Kharadar and Saddar.
According to K-Electric spokesman, 117 feeders tripped in Karachi due to rain, but till 5:00AM nearly all the feeders were restored while work remaining 15 was underway, he added.
According to Meteorological Department, the current monsoon spell will continue for seven more days in Pakistan and its intensity will become high in next three days.
