WEB DESK: After Gloria Jean’s Lahore, it is the famous food-chain Pizza Hut Peshawar and KFC under food scrutiny. The food inspector allegedly found Pizza Hut selling the expired dough for making pizza.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, ADC Osama Warraich and AAC Muhammad Fawad checked Pizza Hut on Shami road and KFC on university road were found with expired items in the kitchen yesterday.
Branch manager of Pizza Hut is under arrest. Rotten vegetables and more than 200 expired items were found at KFC. As a result, KFC has been sealed. Legal actions will be taken against KFC as well.
Recently, the Punjab Food Authority sealed Gloria Jean’s for violating hygiene and cleanliness regulations.
Following suit, a new campaign has been launched by Deputy Commissioner Peshawar to ensure the safety and cleanliness of fast food joints.
Some international chains such as KFC, Gloria Jean’s Coffees and Pizza Hut has come under the crossfire, with many local eateries being sealed and fined for improper storage, usage of expired items, improper labeling and unhygienic conditions.
