PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan said that the need of the hour is to run the educational institutes successfully in FATA.
There are already schools and colleges in FATA but they are not working and functioning properly. Hence, an effective service delivery system should be implemented to expedite the process and effective working in order to implement successful education system in FATA.
He expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting with the members of Sir Michael Barber team comprising of Haroon Sethi and Taimoor Khan. Additional Chief Secretary FATA Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, Principal Secretary to Governor was also present in the meeting.
A detailed presentation was also given to the Governor on roadmap for social sector in FATA. In presentation non performance indicators, affective human resources, monitoring, areas of priority, permanent delivery unit for providing service and challenges in its way were discussed.
The Governor advised the team to do comparison of the educational system of progressive countries with that of Pakistan and locate the loop holes in our system and modify it into such a system which can function and work constantly.
The Governor directed the FATA officials to be in coordination with the team and provide funds from our own resources, should be spent on the improvement of social sector in FATA.
The Governor further emphasized rationalize the appointment of people in sectors like health and education and set targets for rationalization.
Three pronged strategy should be adopted that are unit design delivery services for FATA, Priority Agenda and DATA collection System, so that such systems should be introduced which can function properly and constantly. Hence, people of FATA will be benefited.
