KARACHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are expected to meet in Russia this week, Aaj News reported.
A spokes person of the foreign office said that the two leaders will meet in the Russian city of Ufa, on the sidelines of a summit of the Shanghai Coperation organisation. The meeting is set to take place on 10th of July.
The spokesperson said that the two leaders had not formally confirmed their meeting but it was expected that they would meet during the conference.
Russina President Vladmir Putin might play a major role in getting a meeting fixed between the two leaders, a source said.
During the conference a project for an LNG pipeline from Karachi to Lahore with China’s assistance will also be signed. It is expected that Modi will oppose this project.
