KARACHI: On the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (R.A), Sindh government has banned pillion riding in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur for two days, Aaj News reported.
Pillion riding has been banned under section 144 on July 08 (Wednesday) and 09 (Thursday). A notification has also been issued in this regard.
However, senior citizens, women, children, journalists and personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies will be exempted from the ban.
There are chances that the ban will continue till Eid.
Talking to the media Sindh Police Qadir Thebo said that in the last week of Ramzan incidents of street crime and terrorist activities increase. He has written a letter to the Interior Minister to ban pillion riding till Eid morning.
