The rupee moved both ways against the dollar on the money market on Thursday in the process of trading, dealers said.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: The rupee picked up four-paisa versus the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 101.75 and Rs 101.77 respectively, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee, however, lost 10-paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 102.90 and Rs 103.10 respectively, they said. The national currency recovered 25-paisa against the euro for buying and selling at Rs 113.50 and Rs 114.50 respectively, they said.
In the fourth Asian trade, the yen dipped in Asian trade on Thursday as the market geared up for a deluge of US data that could back expectations for the Federal Reserve to lift interest rates and briefly steal the spotlight from the Greece’s debt crisis.
The data, from durable goods to non-farm payrolls, will be released later in the global day, with US markers closed on Friday for the July 4 Independence Day. Heralding the key payrolls data, the ADP National Employment Report on Wednesday showed private employers added 237,000 jobs in June, the biggest gain since December and ahead of the 218,000 forecast.
The dollar war trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 63.59, the greenback was at 3.7740 versus the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was at 6.2047 in terms of the Chinese yuan.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee failed to maintain rising trend and remained under pressure against the greenback on the local currency market on Thursday.
The currency dealers said the rupee lost 10-paisa against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 102.70 and Rs 102.95 against the overnight closing of Rs 102.60 and Rs 102.85, respectively. However, the rupee staged recovery and ended at Rs 159.50 and Rs 159.75 on buying and selling side compared with the Tuesday closing of Rs 160.60 and Rs 160.85, respectively, the dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling).
