WEB DESK: Famous singer, Adnan Samee has been allowed by the Indian government to stay in India, after his visa expired on May 26, an Indian newspaper reported.
According to reports, the singer was facing deportation by Indian authorities after his visa expired and the renewal process was halted by his home country Pakistan owing to a property battle with his ex-wife Sabah Gardazi.
He has been allowed to stay in India by the foreign office on humanitarian grounds. Minister of State, Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, said that Sami was exempted from deportation owing to section 3 in foreign act for his good conduct.
He has been exempted from deportation till further orders.
The Lahore-born artist has received several Indian and international awards for his contribution to the music industry.
