ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Abdul Qadir Baloch Monday said, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz will challenge the decision of Election Tribunal regarding repolling in NA-122, in the apex court.
Talking to a news channel, the minister said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) respected the verdict of election tribunal but it was legal and constitutional right of the party to seek justice from the superior judiciary.
He said the tribunal in its verdict did not mention any malpractice on the part of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq or his party, rather it specified some irregularities of the staff of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Sardar Ayaz Sadiq or his voters could not be punished for the mistakes or malpractices of the ECP’s staff, Qadir mentioned.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was trying to justify its sit-in on the basis of tribunal’s decision on NA-122.
Replying to a question regarding electoral reforms, he said the Parliamentary committee was doing its job and suggestions of all the members including PTI were being entertained in the committee meetings.
