KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, has expressed concern on the delay in the development projects in the city.
Chairing a meeting on Wednesday, he declared that no delay or dereliction would be tolerated in this regard.
He said that Lyari Expressway was a big development project of public interest. Its execution has already been delayed.
The Commissioner made it clear that no further delay or dereliction in this regard would be tolerated.
He directed that the affectees of the project should be disbursed compensation money from today so that this corridor could be opened for the public.
Deputy Commissioner West while briefing the participants of the meeting said that 850 metre corridor of Lyari Expressway South bound would be handed over to the NHA in two days’ time.
He said that an operation has also been initiated for the removal of hurdles and encroachments.
The allotees of Mianwali Colony would be disbursed compensation amount by the government from today.
Officers of FWO and NHA also attended the meeting besides Project Director of Lyari Expressway.
