Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has challenged the non-bailable arrest warrant in the Islamabad high court, issued against him on last Thursday, Aaj News reported.
He was charged by central court Karachi for eight cases of corruption. Cases against some former and serving senior officials of the TDAP and others were registered by FIA for their alleged involvement in approving and disbursing fraudulent trade subsidies of billions of rupees to several fake companies through fictitious claims and backdated cheques.
His lawyers appealed to the high court that his arrest warrant should be suspended and he should be allotted a secure bail. The case will be heard by Justice Noorull Haq Qureshi.
