ISLAMABAD: Justice Anwar Jamali took oath as the new chief justice of Pakistan, in a ceremony presided by President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday, Aaj News reported.
He became the 24th Chief Justice of Pakistan. Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali is heading a commission to investigate into a gun attack on senior journalist Hamid Mir
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Army Chief Raheel Sharif were also present at the ceremony.
Earlier, on August 17 Justice Jawad S Khwaja had taken oath as Chief Justice. He retired on Wednesday.
