LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed Provincial Committee on Anti Dengue to further intensify measures on war footing in Rawalpindi, Multan besides other cities for elimination of dengue virus.
He issued instructions to the authorities to adopt all possible steps for controlling dengue. He said that special attention should be paid to indoor and outdoor surveillance and effective measures should be continued in Rawalpindi and Multan for eliminating this menace.
The CM said that there was no room for laxity in the drive against dengue. Shahbaz Sharif said that Town Emergency Response Committees should work in a coordinated manner while special attention should be paid to look after and treatment of dengue patients in hospitals.
He said that concerned institutions would have to play an active role for saving the people from dengue as no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
The Chief Minister said that elected representatives, administration and concerned institutions should work round the clock to control this menace.
