ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Ahsan Iqbal here on Wednesday said the government would establish a state-of-art cancer hospital in capital city.
Addressing a seminar on Breast Cancer, he said unfortunately Pakistan was among those countries where breast cancer was spreading rapidly.
He also inaugurated the Federal Breast Cancer Screening Center, established at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad.
Vision 2025 is a framework for future development of the country that provides a road map for developed and progressive Pakistan adding that it aimed to bring the country at par with rest of the developing world.
Along with other challenges, our civil sector is facing health as one of the major concerns. Vision 2025 addresses this very critical challenge and suggests for a comprehensive strategy at all level in the government set up, he added.
The issue of breast cancer is not only related to any individual woman but affects whole family and society, he added.
The minister said worldwide breast cancer poses a major health risk for women and there was a strong need to organize awareness campaign sessions in the educational institutes on mass level as well as for women residing in rural areas.
He urged the media to highlight issue on priority bases as women’s health was a major concern for the present government and utmost efforts were being made to improve their health conditions for secure future.
