LAHORE: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday said Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan had wasted time of people and wanted to derail democracy through his politics of sit-in.
Addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club,he said Imran’s politics of road-show had damaged the country’s economy and delayed the visit of president of China which caused hurdle in the investment of billions of rupees.
He said the PTI was trying to pressurise the Election Commission of Pakistan and the ECP had suspended the Prime Minister’s Kissan Package due to PTI’s pressure.
He said the purpose of the Kissan Package was to resolve issues of farmers and make development in the agriculture sector by enhancing exports and the Kissan Package was initiated after consultation with all provinces, he added.
He said they would fully take part in by-polls of NA-122 as the Constitution gave rights to every political party and person to conduct its election campaign effectively.
The minister said the PML-N would again win the NA-122 elections through support of people.
Saad Rafique said Imran Khan should apologize from the nation after findings of the judicial commission and should learn lessons from experiences of political parties, including the PPP and PML-N.
He said the government had achieved its targets and some had yet to be achieved as the government was putting efforts in a right direction for progress and prosperity of the country.
He said the PML-N had promised to the nation during its election campaign that it would ensure law and order in Karachi and the government had taken solid measures to eliminate criminals.
The minister said people would evaluate politics of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan, adding the prime minister has raised the issue of Kashmir in the United Nations General Assembly session effectively which was also appreciated by the world community.
He said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had put in place special and comprehensive measures, including infrastructure, metro bus in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan, to raise the living standard of people in the province.
MNAs Marvi Memon, Talal Chaudhry, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha,Rana Afzal Khan and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry were also present.
