PESHAWAR : Special Assistant to KP Chief Minister on Fisheries and Livestock, Mohibullah Khan has said that illegally fishing is completely prohibited in the province and warned violators of stern legal action.
Similarly, he said that in case of the involvement of any employee, the department will take action against him.
He expressed these views while speaking during a briefing given to him at Charbanda Fishery Hatchery, Mardan on Friday.
Those present on the occasion were included chairman, District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC), MPA Iftikhar Mashwani, Additional Secretary Livestock, Shaukat Khan Yousafzai, Director, Amanul Mulk and other authorities concerned.
Briefing the Special Assistant, the Assistant Director Fisheries told that for increasing the production, preservation and preventing of fish from diseases, the fish workers will be imparted necessary training to enable them to start their own business, rather beside arresting unemployment, the food security will also be improved.
He further said that eggs laying fish will also be put in the hatchery.
He said that during the current financial year about 0.3 million fish will be freed in different ponds of district Mardan.
Speaking on the occasion, the Special Assistant expressed satisfaction over the briefing and asked the officials for taking steps to turn the fish farm beneficial for the stakeholders of the fisheries sector and general public.
