PESHAWAR: Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Labor Raja Ishfaq Sarwar and Minister for Mineral Development Ch. Sher Ali Tuesday visited provincial metropolis of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and handed over 50 trucks of relief goods along with health and rescue teams.
Addressing a press conference on the occasion, Minister for Labor Raja Ishfaq said the devastating earthquake was a national tragedy that affected thousands of people in KP and said Punjab government stands united with KP people and would support the KP government and people in this hour of tragedy.
He said that Punjab government has provided RESCUE-1122 teams of 65 persons, health teams comprising 41 doctors, nurses and technical staff, 50 trucks of relief goods including 10,000 tents, 10,000 blankets, 10,000 edible goods and five trucks of flour to KP government for assistance of affected people.
He said though the provision of relief goods by Punjab government cannot mitigate the suffering of affected people but it was provided on special directives of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to express solidarity with KP people.
He assured full support of Punjab government to KP until and unless the rehabilitation of the affected people and areas.
