ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has asked for a list of all not-for-profit organizations working in Pakistan, Aaj News reported.
A three member bench headed by Justice Nasir Jamal heard the case about registration of NGOs in Pakistan.
According to a report submitted to the Supreme Court there are over 47000 not-for-profit-organizations working in Punjab, 6000 in Sindh, 10,000 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2000 in Baluchistan and over 1000 work in Capital Territory.
The bench asked the government to compile data for all not-for-profit organizations which work in Pakistan. The bench was told that this would take two months.
