SHEIKHAPURA: Medicines worth Rs10 million have crossed their date of expiry at the health ministry, Aaj News reported.
Over 1300,000 tablets which could have save lives were forgotten in the storage rooms. The medicines should have been distributed to various rural health centre, but negligence of health officers let them go wasted.
The medicines had been bought three years ago, under the banner of ‘Sehat mand Punjab’.
Health facilities in rural areas of Pakistan unsatisfactory, and often people have to travel miles to nearby cities to seek medical treatment.
