WEB DESK: Former T20 captain, Younis Khan is 19 runs away from becoming the top run scorer in test cricket format from Pakistan beating Miandad’s record.
Younis Khan is the only captain after Imran Khan to win a championship for Pakistan. He was the captain of the T20 championship in 2009, which Pakistan won in England.
He will feature prominently in the Pakistan-England first Test match which starts in Abu Dhabi on Monday. The 37-year-old has 8814 Test runs from 101 matches, and he can overtake legendary Javed Miandad’s total of 8832 runs tomorrow.
Younis Khan made his international debut in an ODI against Sri Lanka at Karachi in February 2000. He has played 101 Test matches.
Another player ahead of Younis in the list is Inzamam-ul-Haq, with 8830 runs. So if Younis makes another 19 runs, he will out-do both cricket legends; Inzimam and Minadad.
