LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said Allama Iqbal was the one who envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent to order their lives in accordance with their value system, civilizational identity and a peculiar way of life.
In his message on the birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Shehbaz Sharif said Allama Iqbal was a legendary poet, philosopher, thinker and an eminent political leader.
The chief minister said Pakistan was passing through a critical phase of its history and facing challenges of terrorism, extremism, sectarianism and other issues and in such a situation, the need for acting upon the philosophy of Iqbal is more than ever.
He said it was time to adopt a collective rather than individual approach in the larger interest of the country.
He said a major chunk of Iqbal’s poetry revolved around the youth whom the great poet regarded as architect of future and hope of humanity.
