According to a report aired on PTV News on Monday, there are 50 Union Council with addition of 16 from the metropolitan– creating a total of 66 union councils which will solve local problems of the capital.
The report covered enthusiastic views and opinions of the public. Political leaders are busy displaying banners and campaigning all over the city.
PPP political leader Sibt-e-Haider Bukhari said he is actively participating in the LG polls and is hopeful of a great come back in the coming election.
He added that the voters are wise enough and do trust them and the service the PPP had rendered for the development and welfare of the people in the country.
Chairperson of PPP foreign affairs Palwasha Behram said that they have a unique philosophy in every respect and believe that those who have gone physically are present spiritually in the hearts of the people of Sindh and
Punjab ,KPK and Kashmir and their slogan is ‘awam’, ‘awam’ and ‘awam’ . She said its a unique honor for us that our leaders have given us this heritage and now its our obligation to transfer this trend into our next generations .
General Councilor contestant from Ali Pur Farash and leader PML-N Azhar Mehmood Khokar said that he is thankful to Tariq Fazal Chaudhary who trusted him to contest this election and gave him the party ticket.
Chaudhry Ashraf Farzand a contestant for councilors (minority) said after winning the elections he would try to solve local problems.
Malik Mushtaq Ahmad, contestant from UC 1 for the seat of Chairman , said he would focus education, health, cleanliness in Saidpur village and other areas.
Sardar Mohammad Habib a contestant of General councilor UC 30 , said we would try resolve issue of water in his area and then we would make a welfare committee for the widowers and would expand it .
Shahida Parveen, a candidate for lady councilor from UC 30 said that she would like women to serve the country and those who are hesitant would be encouraged to come out to work, improve their education and support themselves.
