WEB DESK: Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has hogged media’s attention since the movie was announced because Salman khan and Mr. Barjatya coming together after 15 years with the glorious character of ‘Prem’.
A report on Bollywoodlife.com states that Sooraj Barjatya’s film might be the Bollywood adaptation of Anthony Hope’s The Prisoner of Zenda.
This adventure novel had released in the year 1894, and was adapted for Hollywood screen thrice in 1937, 1952 and 1979 even Bollywood has used this subject line in the movie ‘Raja Aur Rank’ in the year 1968. The report goes on to say that the original idea of PRDP has been lifted from the novel itself.
The novel was about the story of King Rudolf of Ruritania, the king impersonate by his step brother Prince Micheal just few days before the coronation ceremony. Than an English visitor Rassendyll , who look alike of King Rudolf played the character of King in his absence.
Rassendyll falls in love with Princess Flavia, the King’s betrothed, but cannot tell her the truth. He determines to rescue the king and leads an attempt to enter the castle of Zenda. The King is rescued and is restored to his throne.
Story line Plot of the Movie Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is almost the same as The Prisoner of Zenda. In which Salman Khan played a double role of both the King and a Rassendyll, while his step brother Nikiten instead of Micheal wanted to be a king himself and impersonate his elder brother.
Sonam kapoor played a role of Princess Falvia who falls in love with the man who looks like a King.
