LARKANA: A large number of three-wheelers Qingqi rickshaws have once again started plying on road in the entire Larkana district, causing serious unrest among the residents as traffic jams have become a daily affair especially during school and office timings causing nuisance for the public.
About 25,000 Qingqi, 5000 Auto rickshaws and more-then 50,000 motorcycles were plying on roads in the district, majority of them are in Larkana city as the drivers earn more money than towns or villages due to availability of more passengers.
Sindh High Court Karachi had banned operation of these Qingqi, police obeyed HSC order for few days, but since last over two weeks, the banned three-wheelers have again surfaced on the roads.
Most of them do not have proper fitness certificates and number plates. The traffic cops allegedly grabbing money from them daily after which they are allowed to operate.
People have demanded of the higher authorities to take serious action to save precious lives.
