ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has expressed confidence that the third phase of local bodies elections in Punjab on 5th December would be well-organized and more systematic.
This was said during a meeting held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, the ECP reviewed arrangements for the third phase of LB elections in the province.
Secretary interior Punjab, secretary local bodies Punjab, IG Punjab and deputy returning officers of all the 12 districts where polling would be held were also present on the occasion.
The chief election commissioner said the governments come and go, while institutes remain, therefore the all the polling agents should remain apolitical.
The IG said police would take care of the security of polling stations, while Rangers would be posted as per sensitivity of the location.
The meeting decided that 44 police and eight Rangers companies would serve as quick response force.
