NANGARHAR: At least 30 people including four security personnel have been killed during separate clashes in two districts of Nangarhar province, Afghanistan.
Afghan forces killed 22 Daesh fighters while dozens others were wounded during an operation by Afghan security forces backed by air support in Achin district.
A local policeman and an Afghan National Army soldier were also killed during the operation.
Separately, two local policemen and four Taliban were killed during clash in Salampur area of Kuz Kunar district of the province.
Meanwhile, Afghan and US officials say a joint military operation has freed at least 40 Afghan security forces from a Taliban prison in Nawzad district of Helmand province.
