WEB DESK: December 16, 2014 will stay etched in our memories forever. This was when 144 unarmed citizens, mostly school children were killed mercilessly by Taliban gunmen.
Somehow this became the watershed moment for Pakistan. While the civil-military leadership decided to go on an all-out operation against the Taliban, artists came out with songs to show solidarity with the victims.
Here are 5 songs written on the APS attacks. Some may send shivers down your spine, others will make you shed you a tear or two.
1. “Bara Dushaman Bana Phirta Hai”
This was the first musical tribute released by ISPR when the children returned to the school. With a young child’s voice lending melody to the lyric, the song was penned by the ISPR. The message is one of conviction and resilience that children cannot be frightened anymore.
2. “Zindagi Yaad Krti Hai”
Shehzad Roy dedicated his song to the victims of the Peshawar Attack. The song highlighted the emptiness the country felt after the attack.

3. “Mujhe Dushaman K Bachon Ko Parhana Hia”
On the first anniversary of APS Peshawar attack ISPR released a new song which said that it was important to educate the children of the terrorists.
4. ‘Jeetain Gay Hum’
Rock star Ali Azmat brought back the will to fight on with this song.
Actor and singer, Ali Zafar paid a tribute to the APS martyrs through his song Uraingay.
