KARACHI: A boxing contest sponsored by boxer Amir Khan will begin at Lyari on Monday. The finale on December 21, will be attended by the boxing King, Amir Khan.
The boxing matches will continue for eight days, where teams from FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit will participate.
The tournament is being organized by the Rangers to spread the message of peace, a statement read.
For the final match Amir Khan will travel to Pakistan.
Lyari a locality was rife with violence, as rival gangs fought. After an operation which started in 2012, peace has restored.
In August this year, Amir Khan visited Lyari where he encouraged aspiring boxers in the locality. He also began a boxing camp at the People’s Stadium.
