RAWALPINDI: The statements of six eye-witnesses, being produced by the prosecutors, will be recorded in the next proceeding in the currency smuggling case against Ayyan Ali in Rawalpindi Customs Court.
Customs Judge Rana Aftab on Tuesday heard the smuggling case against Ayyan Ali where the prosecutors produced six eye-witnesses in the case which included Airport Security Force personnel and customs officials.
Ayyan Ali’s counsel informed the court that his client’s indictment has been challenged in High Court and the petition has been accepted for hearing. He pleaded before the court to adjourn the case proceedings till 21st December as Latif Khosa, the counsel of Ayyan Ali, has been busy in his election campaign for the President of Pakistan Bar Council. While adjourning the case till December 16, the judge remarked that the lawyers should fulfil their professional responsibilities alongside contesting elections.
