ADELAIDE OVAL: Adelaide Strikers beat Melbourne Stars in the second game of Big Bash League (BBL) by 19 runs.
Melbourne Stars won the toss and chose to field . A crowd of around 27,611 people had gathered to appreciate their respective teams.
Ross, Hodge rescued Strikers with 115-run 5th-wkt stand to post 5-187. Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and David Hussey heroics could not save Stars.
Strikers miss five chances because of sloppy fielding but superb bowling effort by Kane Richardson and Ben Laughlin bowling made the win possible.
Stars were at 90 for 1 after 11 overs and they need 98 in 54 balls with 9 wickets remaining but Ben Laughlin took Marcus Stoinis and Kevin Pietersen both in the over number 12.
David Hussey and Glenn Maxwell were the next players to bat but they were not able to achieve victory except that reverse sweep six by Maxwell.
AIex Ross (Adelaide Strikers) became the player of the match for his blistering 65 in just 31 balls.
