KARACHI: Two cases against the participants of a rally taken out at Numaish area on Friday area have been registered by the police, Aaj News reported.
According to the police participants of the rally had not taken permission, and so created problems for commuters and citizens who were returning home after a hard day of work.
The cases have been registered under the section of terrorism and attacking the police at the Soldier Bazaar and Jamshed Quarters police station.
Police arrested at least 35 participants of the rally held against the Supreme Court’s order of upholding death penalty for Mumtaz Qadri on Friday.
The rally, which was organized by Sunni organizations including Sunni Tehreek, heading towards Tibbet Center via Numaish was intercepted by police near Numaish. Police resorted to baton-charging and arrested dozens of the participants.
Meanwhile, a leader of the rally told that the government officials had ensured the people arrested in different police stations would soon be released.
