KARACHI: Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is being celebrated here on Thursday with religious fervor and enthusiasm.
The day began with a 21-gun salute.
Some 1,115 ceremonies including processions, rallies, Mehfile Milad and gatherings are being held in the city in connection with the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations.
On this occasion, as many as 515 processions and rallies would also be taken out in the metropolis besides the main procession and the gathering.
The law enforcement agencies have made extra-ordinary security arrangements for the occasion. The main procession in the metropolis has been taken out from the New Memon Masjid in the afternoon.
After passing through its traditional route, it will terminate at the Nishter Park where gathering would be held in the evening in connection with the 12th Rabi ul Awwal.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has also made elaborate arrangements for the provision of civic facilities and as well as cleanliness. The mosques, public and private buildings have been tastefully decorated and illuminated.
